Dedicated to female empowerment, skills development, and transformation, Amani has the largest footprint in Africa as a hospitality wellness provider and creator of award-winning and exceptional spa experiences, delivering a consistent, professional and entrenched view of wellness and hospitality combined.
Ronleigh completed her Bachelor of Commerce, Legal Degree and began her career in corporate forensic investigations. In 2001, she joined Trans Africa Investments Holdings (“TAIH”), an entrepreneurial & Investment Company, as Managing Director.
TAIH expanded, forming Trans Africa Railways, which became Africa’s only independent railway Company. With its innovative and unique structure, TAR opened the railway corridor between Southern and East Africa, making a significant impact on the continent’s Logistics and Transportation, and providing a cost-effective solution to Africa’s transport needs.
In 2000, the Company invested in several Hotel and Game Lodges in East Africa, and in 2005, expanded its investment into Lodges in South Africa. Seeing a gap in the market to provide Health, Beauty and Wellness Spas in Game Lodges and exercising visionary leadership, Ronleigh embraced this opportunity and established Amani Spas. This realised great value-add services to the Safari industry in Africa and increased visitors both locally and internationally to the Lodges she became associated with. In 2006, Amani’s first Spa was constructed at Ivory Tree Game Lodge in the Pilanesberg in South Africa, and thus another pioneering business was formed - the Safari Spa experience.
Today, Amani Spas has a footprint of 18 Wellness Spas, with another 6 under development and 14 in the pipeline. Today, Amani has the largest footprint in Africa as a hospitality wellness provider.
Coupled with Amani’s strong reputation in the Hospitality Industry in Africa for its spa and wellness innovation, professionalism, expertise and experience, and the growth in Wellness Tourism, Amani’s Development & Consultancy delivers a comprehensive range of services including turnkey spa projects to its clientele in the Hospitality Industry. Developers, owners and management companies have become cognisant of the trends and understand that spa and wellness facilities are now in fact an integral part of a hotel and destination experience from inception, rather than the fading impression of spa and wellness as a luxurious add-on, and offers significant opportunities for increased top line revenue, which is beneficial for the Owner as well as the Management Company.
To expand its service offerings, and distinguish itself from all other spa companies, Amani created a bespoke Concierge division, and is no longer a simple 'value-add' to the hotel facility, but in fact a contributor to the success of the Hotel through enticing clientele to the hotel whilst, adding rooms revenue through packages and leisure stays, additional conference and events revenues, and increased incremental spend.
Complementing the Amani brand and its services, Amani now manufactures and supplies a unisex collection of premium hospitality guest amenities, formulated with the unique African experience in mind, which caters to luxury hotels, resorts and lodges across the continent.
