Dr. Achim Schmitt is Associate Dean, Graduate Studies and Professor of Strategic Management at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne. After more than 15 years in strategy consulting, Achim has gained substantial knowledge in strategy formulation, corporate turnarounds and managing underperforming business situations. He has been working at the University of Geneva (Switzerland), Audencia Business School (France), and was a Visiting Scholar at Columbia Business School (United States). Achim holds a PhD from the University of Geneva and obtained his Habilitation at the University of Paris-Dauphine in France. His research focuses on organizational decline, corporate turnarounds and strategic management that has been published in some of the leading management journals. He currently serves on the scientific board of the International Association of Strategic Management (France) and the Editorial Board at Long Range Planning.
